Regarding SSc44: Alternative Transportation, Parking Capacity

USGBC grants equivalence with the "carpooling compliance path of SSc4.4 to be met in a multi-unit residential setting," contingent on:

  • Signing a two year contract with a car share company
  • Providing preferred, reserved parking for car share vehicles
  • Demonstrating that car share vehicles will be capable of serving 5% of the building's occupants
  • Certification reviewers finding that car share calculations and estimates of customers served per car are reasonable (margin of error <5%)

Regarding SSc43, Sustainable Sites: Alternative Transportation, Alternative Fuel Refueling Stations

In a multi-unit residential setting, USGBC has granted equivalence for the Sustainable Site credit's AFV/hybrid vehicle compliance path, again pursuant to the following:

  • Signing a two year contract with a car share company
  • Providing preferred, reserved parking for car share vehicles;
  • Supplying the USGBC a signed contract (with relevant details highlighted) and an explanation of the customers/car calculation methodology;
  • Certification reviewers finding that car share calculations and estimates of customers served per car are reasonable (margin of error <5%)
